Travel Purpose: business

Positive: Sana from guest relations and Mohammed the general manager, were the two people who I can say made my trip BETTER. The hotel having all inclusive facilities is great and the the Breakfast Kitchen manager Salah, was a good person too.

Negative: This list may be lengthy and so get yourself a cuppa and read on! The first thing that I will have to say is WIFI.. its practically non existent in the hotel. Myself and my colleague had to go around the hotel looking for WIFI to try and upload content online or just to speak with family. Some days the wifi would work by the pool side, some days it could be found in the lobby. It was like playing where's Wall-E. One of the nights we decided to stay in and watch a movie, worst decision of our lives. The movie on Netflix COULD NOT load to even 2 mins.. we had to position the iPad in so many different way to try and get a little watch. I would rather pay for the WIFI, then it being for free and basically non existent. Then the receptionists and staff, I'm not really sure what is going on there. I understand that it is a new hotel but the lack of training is an abomination. Staff walking around the hotel could not tell me what time dinner was. The staff were just walking into our rooms without knocking for room cleaning everyday. There was no organisation between the staff themselves. You call reception for one thing, you will need to call them an extra three times before it can get done for you. And then the smell. Sewage. This smell was ridiculous. It was disgusting and ran throughout the hotel. On some days there would be no smell, some days i felt like a sewage staff member on call for work. we complained at first and nothing was being done for 2 nights. We got told to leave the AC on and the smell will go. Funny enough, we then got told by another staff member that the issue of the smell comes from the AC.. so why are staff members telling us different things? Finally, complained to Mohammed the general manager who offered us a room change, we then informed by one of the front of house staff that most of the rooms have the same issue and so changing rooms might not make a difference.
